Answers.com Introduces Answer Tips Feature for Your Blog

I just found a really useful feature on Answers.com called "Answer Tip." I used the word 'subversive' while chatting with a friend and looked it up to check whether it meant what I thought it meant. In the definition of 'subversive,' of course, was the word 'subvert' so I double-clicked it so I could highlight it, paste it in the search box, and get that definition...

Surprise! As soon as I double-clicked the word an AJAX panel opened up and quickly loaded the definition for 'subvert!' What a great feature!

Answer Tips

So it turns out these pop up panels are called "Answer Tips." Websites or blogs can be "AnswerTip-Enabled" by pasting their free code into your template. Alternatively, you can install a FireFox extension that will enable this feature through your browser. The thing I like the most is that it doesn't contaminate your typical browsing experience. In the single-click navigation world of the web page you won't even notice the tips unless you're looking for them.
