Visualization of the EPA's Symposium Website Structure

The US Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a symposium on sharing environmental data about the Puget Sound region. The goal is to use new tools and technologies to share information which could help protect the area. They have also challenged developers to build mashups which use innovative methods of knowledge-sharing.

Scott Kocher of IndusCorp asked me to build a quick demo for the symposium's mashup wiki. The demo uses the Constellation interface to allow users to navigate the pages in the wiki. Each node represents a page in the website and edges between nodes represent links. This is the first time I've had a chance to use Constellation to visualize the structure of a website and it's really exciting!

Update: Looks like the demo's been taken down so the link was removed. You can see another sample of Constellation in action in the Facebook Mutual-Friend Visualization.

Also take a look at this powerful map mashup. It allows you to drag and drop different datasets onto a map. Right now it only works in IE but it's pretty slick.
