Flash and Flex Developer Hourly Rates at HotGigs

Flex Charting Components reporting on how much Flex developers charge for their services. It doesn't get any more meta than that!

I remember scouring the internet for information about what other Flash developers were charging for their work sometime last year. The only information available was in the forums and it varied wildly. Some people were charging $20/hour and others upwards of $120.

It's time to assess my rates again but this time I quickly stumbled on HotGigs.

During the sign in process you're required to fill out your skills and position titles. The data is aggregated and they put together simple, effective bar charts displaying the rates charged by people with differing experience levels.

This is really good information to have when you're picking your rates. There are a lot of jobs in there and you can even look at rates charged by people with different skills (remoting, PHP, database design).

Granted, all this has to be taken with a bit of salt since not everybody who signs up for the service is honest about their rates. Take, for example, cartoon artists with medium experience. Apparently some one's rate is $5555.00 per hour!
